Integrated Ecotourism Management (INTEM)

On 8 August 2018, LEAD received a substantial subsidy of nearly one million Euro from the International Capacity Building of Higher Education Programme (CBHE) of the European Union in Brussels. After the first year, Leiden University (LU) lost its role of Coordinating Institution in 2020 as the result of poor financial management of the INTEM Project. The coordination will be taken over by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICH) in Greece which will continue this advanced programme in Indonesia on the basis of its expertise and experience with a large number of successful EU-Programmes. The INTEM Consortium will remain under the auspices of the LEAD Programme and cooperate with Breda University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands as soon as the Covid-19 pandemic measures will be lifted.
